Theatre Delicatessen is urgently seeking new buildings, particularly in Central London and Manchester. We have a variety of projects coming up from large-scale performance that will thrill audiences, to training programmes for emerging talent. Your involvement will contribute to keeping us at the cutting edge of culture.
We can take on properties for as little as 6 weeks. If you or your business has a property available that could host the following projects, we'd love to hear from you.
Theatre Delicatessen City Hubs
Theatre Delicatessen is in urgent need of a new Central London building.
Our cultural hubs are vibrant, community-focused platforms for creativity. In both London and Sheffield they’ve had huge impact on the cultural landscape by filling a gap: providing accessible spaces for the next generation of artistic talent to make work.
With creative workspace becoming increasingly difficult to access in city centres, our cultural hubs have been recognised as making a real difference.
If you have an empty space, a collaboration with us will help you save money and protect your building, and can provide high visibility for your CSR initiatives and a platform for PR.
From 10,000 – 100,000 sq ft, no space is too large or small for us to take on, and we can work with flexible time scales.
Theatre Souk is Theatre Delicatessen's ground-breaking festival of immersive theatre. Since 2010 it has helped over 60 companies develop new work, delivered £45,000 in financial support to artists and been visited by over 5000 audiences.
How it works: Theatre Delicatessen take over a large building and turn it into a huge "pop-up" performance market-place. Up to 20 artists or companies get given a room to create an imaginary world the audience can step into. They have up to 2 months to develop the piece with financial support from Theatre Delicatessen. During the festival, audiences can explore the entire building, stepping into as many of these unusual worlds as they can. Each piece of performance or live art is bought direct from the artist. It's exciting, disorientating and a genuinely unique experience for all.
We're looking for large buildings in Central London, Hull, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham and Plymouth that have a variety of spaces in them.
Over the last 8 years we've been sending our audiences on extraordinary adventures. They've had to steal rare works of art, helped circus performers do death-defying tricks, planned a war, and designed a new life.
Absolutely crucial to creating these incredible experiences is space. Buildings that are in development are perfect canvases for audience-led and immersive theatre.
We're looking for buildings to host projects throughout 2017.
Theatre Delicatessen's 'Laboratory for Experiential Arts and Performance (LEAP)' is the engine of all our activity. It provides professional development and training opportunities for artists of all levels to help them expand their artistic practice, build business experience and develop skills that help support a sustainable career in the creative industries.
Unlike our cultural hubs, LEAP can happen within empty spaces in otherwise utilised buildings. It's a low-impact project that can help reduce costs on smaller space or single floors of buildings.
